I am a stone cutter; what are the risks?

I am a specialist in stone; a craftsman and artist at the same time, I work in building to produce construction parts such as pillars, columns, chimneys, staircases, etc.

I tame and form stone to give it elegant shapes that are practical for my clients.
I may also make use of my talents in the restoration of old rooms to give them a new lease on life!

I work in a workshop or directly on building sites

Risks

Risk of projectiles, dusts, chips
When cutting stone and using tools (use of disc saws, grinders, polishers) I risk flying substances, dusts, etc.
I use protective goggles, a breathing mask, gloves, a face shield, etc.

Risks associated with handling
Heavy objects, rough, sharp stones, etc.
I use auxiliary cranes.
I wear protective gloves against grazes, cuts, etc.
I undergo posture training.

Noise
When using machines for perforating, cutting, grinding rocks and stones
I use personal noise protection, ear-muffs, ear plugs, etc.

Fall from a height
When working on some building sites, to install pre-fabricated pieces or for restoration.
I use all forms of anti-fall equipment (harness, safety strap, anti-fall device, fixing point, etc.).

Weather risk
Sometimes working outside on building sites, I am exposed to weather conditions.
I wear clothing as and when required: rain wear, bodywarmer against the cold, parka, pullover, gloves, etc.
