I am a tile layer; what are the risks?

I lay tiles, paving, slates, marble, etc. throughout the house or other buildings: bathroom, kitchen, terrace.

I clad both floors and walls.

I generally intervene once the structural work is finished.
I am somewhat of an artist as I harmonise colours, shapes, etc.
I may have to do masonry work, make screeds, use chemical glues, mortar, may have to cut, polish, etc.

I may also have to perform repairs and renovation works

Risks

Risk associated with posture and handling
The first thing that obviously comes to mind is hygroma of the knee and musculoskeletal disorders (MSD).
Associated with kneeling, handling heavy loads, using vibrating tools, etc.
Alternate positions, take breaks, wear suitable knee pads.
Posture training.

Chemical risk
Associated with the use of certain products (binding materials, glues, cement, etc.)
Associated with the presence of asbestos during renovation works.
I use protective gloves, a mask, etc.

Risk of cutting, grazing
Associated with the handling of tiles, slabs, etc.

Risks of flying particles, chips
During cutting operations, for example
I use protective goggles, visors

Risk associated with the cold, with inclement weather
During interventions on unheated premises or during works outside
Clothing against the cold (bodywarmer, pullover, gloves etc.)

Risk associated with noise
Particularly when cutting tiles.
Anti-noise equipment (headband, ear plugs), protective face shield, crash helmet

Other risks
Associated with co-activity on building sites or during a specific intervention, at elevation for example.
Use the appropriate protection (anti-fall equipment, protective shoes, etc.)
