EN 13758-2 + A1: 2007 Textiles - Protective properties against solar UV radiation - Part 2: Classification and marking of clothing International research has shown that prolonged exposure of the skin to sunlight can have both short- and long-term harmful effects. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the main cause of these damages. EN 13758-2 defines the requirements for marking clothing intended to protect the wearer from exposure to solar ultraviolet radiation. Only covered areas are protected and that the protection offered by this article may decrease with wear, or when it is relaxed or damp. The garment must be cared for in accordance with the instructions on the inside. The ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) as determined by EN 13758-1 must be greater than 40 (UPF 40+). |
