I am a truck driver and I spend a large part of my life on the road.
I prepare my route, my itinerary. I am responsible for the goods.
Depending on my trade I may drive short distances (courrier) or operate over long distances (international).
I may be specialised in certain types of goods
(petroleum products, hazardous substances, coolants, etc.).
I may be involved in handling the goods.
(loading, unloading), in minor repairs to my vehicle.

Road risk
Road accident.
I have to reconcile the delivery deadline with the highway code and the length of the drive.
I use sunglasses to avoid being dazzled.
Risk of poor visibility
On roads, motorways, in car parks, during deliveries, picking up goods I need to be clearly visible.
I wear high-visibility clothing
Risks associated with vehicle maintenance.
Changing a wheel, minor repairs, etc.
I use protective gloves, a safety helmet of bump cap if necessary
Risk of falling
When getting in or out of the cab
I use good anti-slip shoes.
Risks associated with inclement weather
When delivering or loading
I use warm clothing (bodywarmer, parka, jacket, etc.), fur-lined gloves.
Risks associated with handling
The truck driver is always required at short notice to handle
boxes, goods.
Wear suitable gloves.
Risks associated with the surroundings during deliveries or pick-ups
Risks that are specific to delivery or pick-up points may make it necessary to
wear personal protective equipment: helmets, masks, etc.
