Conformément à la directive 89/986/CEE du 21 décembre 1989 suivant le chapitre II, Article 8, paragraphe 3, ce produit est classifié comme EPI pour "risques mineurs" et se trouve donc exempté d'examen "CE" de type:
"(…) sont exemptés de l'examen "CE" de type les modèles d'EPI de conception simple dont le concepteur présume que l'utilisateur peut juger par lui même de l'efficacité contres des risques minimes dont les effets, lorsqu'ils sont graduels, peuvent être perçus en temps opportun et sans danger pour l'utilisateur (...) ".
